Let's see if I can explain. Place tie around neck. Shorten one end, so the other is about 3/4 longer. The long end, cross over the short end and pass under the short end. Cross over again and bring the end of the long end up behind again, and up from behind into the V created where the ends go about the neck. Now... bring forward, trough the V to tuck the end of the long bit into the pocket created by having wrapped the tie twice around the short end... pull out the bottom of the pocket... and holding the short end... pull the knot up ... bob's yer uncle.
How's that for a bloke that does not even wear collars?
