Urgent Prayer Request

These are good friends of our family. We learned yesterday that Nick was in the hospital and today this prayer request was sent out to our parish via email.

" Please pray for healing and for wisdom for the doctors at (the local) Medical Center. Nick Y., Dean and Bridget Y.'s oldest son, is in ICU with a collapsed lung. He is in serious condition. "
The following Psalm was attached to the prayer request.

Responsorial Psalm
71:1-2, 3-4a, 5-6ab, 15ab and 17

In you, O LORD, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your justice rescue me, and deliver me;
incline your ear to me, and save me.
Be my rock of refuge,
a stronghold to give me safety, for you are my rock and my fortress.
O my God, rescue me from the hand of the wicked.
For you are my hope, O LORD;
my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
On you I depend from birth;
from my mother’s womb you are my strength.
My mouth shall declare your justice,
day by day your salvation.
O God, you have taught me from my youth,
and till the present I proclaim your wondrous deeds.

June 23rd...

Hmmm, what is familiar about this date? Oh yes, at this time on this date, last year, we were scurrying around loading roasts and coolers and meat slicers into the van, counting shoes and socks to make sure none were left behind and gathering special dresses and outfits. Thankfully the guys suits were all already in Charlotte. Then we were counting heads to make sure that in the excitement of heading to Charlotte for John and Jenny's wedding - we didn't leave any children behind. We certainly did not want to have any pairs of shoes without owners once we got up there. It was an incredible day and flew by in the wink of an eye. Shortly after the wedding we received a disk of pictures from our favourite photographer and we were able to share the wedding with my readers. It was such a beautiful wedding, so full of joy and happiness. Below you will find a few high lights again. In the meantime, I want to wish John and Jenny a very happy first anniversary. It will be hard to top this first year guys - you have accomplished so much!

Fighting back tears of happiness as she walks down the isle with her father.

Exchanging vows...

Mr and Mrs Ryan leave the church, no longer single adults but now united as one couple through the sacrament of marriage, a living joyful sacrament.

First dance...

Cutting the beautiful cake, a gift from another young couple. It was as delicious as it looked.

Dancing with joy - celebrating the awesome sacrament that just took place.

A quiet moment as the celebrations wind down...

Off to the honeymoon! Once they returned, we enjoyed a fun slide show filled with beautiful photos from the area they had visited.

There are SO many wonderful photos that Paul Tomas took that captured such special moments through out the day - it was so difficult to chose which ones to share here, but my goal was to just touch on the highlights. I hope you enjoyed revisiting that day with me.
