I am currently considering closing my blog to the public and making it available by invitation only. Some of you may be aware that a person left a very venomous comment in response to my request for prayers while my husband I try to discern what to do with the family business. It was not on the site for long as one of my oldest children saw the comment and arranged for it's removal. She was hoping I would not see the hate filled comment. I, however, receive all of these comments in my email and so I did see it and am certain that I recognize who wrote it.
We all know that when we write publicly we will incur the dislike of some, possibly even the hatred of others but for the most part we will enjoy the company of many who enjoy your writings and will leave pleasant thoughts as comments. Sometimes I have touched a nerve and a few people have left less than pleasant comments, but nothing as hate filled as the one my son deleted today.
Please keep us in your prayers as we think about this as a family and determine what is best to do for our family. If I decide to close the blog, I will let all of you know and try to make it possible for those of you who wish to continue to read it - to do so through private invitation.
God Bless

Dear Christi,
I'm sorry that happened to you. I guess some people can't help being the low rent trash that they are and chose to remain.
I hope that one comment won't make you change your blog - because how will new people find you?
Mary
so sorry this happened to you,
Would miss following up with you and your wonderful family if you close this down.
I am glad to see you added "Comment moderation". I've not had to do that on my blog, as most of the comments are well meaning. But, one comment was very hurtful to a member of our meeting once, and I considered it at that time.
Prayers for thee and thine

I have never left a comment before, nor do I usually read the comments- but why not try moderating them? I enjoy reading your blog- even though you don't know me- and I would be sad to lose it!
I'm sorry somebody left a nasty note. That seems uncalled for. Or you could just close comments entirely and just post the blog.

Christi,
I am so sorry that someone felt the need to be so rude to your family. I personally did not see the comment but quite honestly nothing surprises me anymore. I think that comment moderation is the way to go. When I set up my own blog I put it on immediately. I for one would love to be able to continue reading your blog no matter what you decide. Sharing your families joys as well as praying for your intentions has me seeing you as a friend .
As the proud second of this "mum to twelve" it is very hard not to be extremely angry at the person who wrote those horrible and nasty things about my beautiful family. For the sake of the blood of Christ I will give my anger to Him and pray for the conversion of my heart and all.
Whoever wrote those ugly words- I hope that you read what I have to say. I will pray for the conversion of your heart and for simple charity. I have never heard or read anything so hurtful, hateful, or judgmental.
I would not trade out one member of my family for any other person in the world. My life as a whole has been beautiful-even if there have been hard times. I thank God everyday for everything he has blessed me with-and at the top of my list is my husband, father and mother and everyone one of my beautiful siblings. I would not wish that any one of them not be born so that my parents could have bought me a car-or spoiled me with the things of this world.
You need to rethink your view on what is precious in this life.
Sincerely,
Jenny

I also visit here and enjoy your posts. I would miss you. It's too bad how some people can be. Honestly, I don't see what a person would really pick on except maybe for an anti-life person making a rude comment about your beautiful large family. I've gotten a few of them, and I feel so sorry for them. They just don't know, but someday they will.
Hopefully you keep your blog open and continue to inspire and encourage others.
God Bless
I was checking your blog last night and got the invitation only screen. I was worried about you and how I would be able to still "keep in touch" with you.
I still say I wish we lived just down the road from each other because I think you and your family are wonderful.
I am sorry you had a hateful commenter -- I had that happen on an earlier blog I had that I had to abandon. It isn't easy to feel safe after some of the things people feel they can say or do under the cover of anonymity.
May God bless you and your family in all you do.
I think setting your blog to private would be a huge loss. Your blog is so inspiring and overflows with the joy and love of a big family. It really shows what is important in life. I would really be sorry to let one unhappy soul ruin it.
I'm glad I didn't see the comment someone made. I might have said something I would have regretted! :)
I love reading about your kiddos, and also appreciate your emails. You helped me out when I went into labor. I look up to you and hope to be a mum to twelve (or so) myself someday! God Bless You!
I'm sorry that someone left something so hateful on your blog. I enjoy reading your posts and would miss your blog if you decide to close down.
Prayers for you and your husband as you discern what is best for your family in regards to the business.
Christi,
You can set your preferences in Blogger to not allow anonymous comments and to have them approved by you before you post them. That's what I do. I have had a few iffy ones in my time which I simply declined to post.
