Fortuitous
I received an anonymous comment that I was using fortuitous incorrectly. Feeling slightly embarrassed I looked up the word as the anonymous writer suggested. From what I understand from the second meaning of the word, I think I used it correctly, but would be happy for input from others. To facilitate the search for the meaning I have added this link.

The usage is correct, if a little confusing - usually an encounter is called fortuitous by the party who gains by it - in this case the little girl in the stall. Since your title doesn't specify for whom the question is fortuitous, it could just as easily be referring to the little girls good fortune in hearing your question. You can pretty much substitute the words 'lucky' or 'fortunate' anywhere you are thinking of using 'fortuitous' to sound it out and see if it fits.
So sad that people have to constantly correct or reprimand others in order to be happy. I personally read this blog , as well as others for enjoyment ,not to criticize the author. Might I suggest that instead of informing others of what you feel are their mistakes , you take a good hard look at your inadequacies and work on them.
Hi Kate: I was not sure you were still around! It's nice to see you are still dropping by. How old is the little guy now - about three? Elsa a little over two and a handful some days, how's it going with your little fellow? Have I over estimated his age?
Thanks for the input!
Blessings

And Kate's having another too! :)
Sorry about the trolls, mum, but any attention is good attention?
Fortuitous is fine. If anyone gives you any grief about word usage just say you are taking "literary license" and they most likely won't know what THAT means and will leave you alone.
Heheheheh!!! Thanks for the input M. Alexander. :-)
