Finally..

These things, feeding the hungry, etc. are really great joys. I work with Indians, deeply involved with a few tribes, and in that, dug the grave of a close native friend. It was a remarkable thing. Devistated by his death, the phsical exhertion, and the sense of making a bed for him was a great comfort. Visiting folks in prison, both as work and for friendship taught me a lot, I spent several Christmas days in prison with friends... and it was a joyous thing. Genie and I bring thermal underware to our neighbors who do not have homes mid winter, most years. There is no way to describe the joy, when these friends remember the help, years later, I remember their thanks more than any present I ever recieved. All these things... feeding the hungry and giving drink... are such joys.
If only others would try it... it really would make a difference. We take so much in this nation, and it never is enough, we take the majority of what the earth produces... and yet, giving is so much a greater joy!
