A thought...

Some people will be want to assist the Schmiedicke family with a donation to purchase a new caar for the family and others will not feel this is the right means for them to show their symathy and support.

I have decided that I am going to purchase one or two of Regina's books Angel in the Waters and donate it to a prolife group or home for unwed mothers in memory of Joshua. In my case, I am going to send my copies to Room At the Inn .

Thank you for sharing that idea. I was puzzled on how to help as well. What a way to evangelize and help Joshua's mom. I may just do that same thing but give one to the library and maybe one to the pregnancy crisis center. What an awful thing to have happen but I must admit I am so inspired by the faith that these 2 parents have. God bless Joshua. It could happen to any of us. Let us hug our children too tight and give too many kisses and say "I love you" till they say "I know...I know MOM!" Let us remember not to take any of our children for granted, not to hold onto grudges. Let us joke more and laugh more together! Let us pray for our children's salvation and our husbands. God bless you...

I love the idea of buying the books and then donating them to the public library! Great idea!

The idea of donating to a library is a good one, but I would check with the library first to make sure they'd shelve it (libraries have different policies about religious literature). Dotating one to a parish or sunday-school library is another option.

I bought a gift subscription of Faith and Family magazine for our local public library. I spoke with the lady in charge first to get her okay and also to let them know not to throw out the copies. It was awesome to see it on the shelf so high and in everyone's view for an entire year. I highly recommend to anyone who feels like donating to do this sort of thing. Another option is the National Catholic Register too. God bless!
